MSSS Mars Observer Camera Operations Animation

This page contains segments of a three-minute computer animation done at MSSS in July-August 1992, explaining the mission of the Mars Observer Camera. The animation was shown at the press conference held at NASA Headquarters 30 days before the Mars Observer launch in September 1992.

The animation was done using MSSS models and software running on Sun workstations. The frames were rendered at 2x resolution, downsampled to NTSC resolution, and recorded on a Sony EVO-9650 Hi8 recorder.
