The processed MOC context images are designed for public enjoyment
rather than science utility. Each of these images was acquired by
the MOC red wide angle camera. Each covers an area about 115 km
(~72 mi) across and down. Each has been de-striped, and a white
box showing the location of the corresponding narrow angle image
has been added. Then, the image has been rotated such that north
is approximately "up" and east is approximately to the right
(the orbit is inclined about 87°, so north is not exactly
"up"). Following these basic steps, a linear stretch and
additional cosmetic processing were conducted.
Because of the value added by processing the data, when used in a publication, the Processed Context Image products should be credited to NASA/JPL/Malin Space Science Systems.
